William E. Maya
Chief Executive Officer and Director

Mr. Maya joined Vestara in March of 2009. He has served in the CEO capacity for three medical technology companies: Birtcher Medical Systems (1987-1994), a publicly-traded manufacturer of hospital and physician office electrosurgical equipment, Advanced Spine Fixation Systems (1995-2004), a marketer of spinal implants to hospitals worldwide which was sold to Osteoimplant Technology, and DataLabs (2004-2007), a developer of web-based applications for clinical studies that was sold to ClinPhone, a London Stock Exchange company for a significant multiple of invested capital. Prior to his first CEO assignment, he served in high-level executive and sales roles for three other medical technology companies: Beta-Flo (sold to 3M), LifeScan (sold to Johnson & Johnson), and Bio-Dynamics (sold to Beringer-Manheim). Mr. Maya also has experience in pharmacology research at Smith, Kline & French, and the predecessor to GlaxoSmithKline.

 

Jon D. Holder
Vice President of Business Development

Mr. Holder has over 18 years of experience in the healthcare industry, most recently serving as General Partner for Holder Capital Partners, an early stage family office and venture consulting practice with emphasis in healthcare and information technology. Mr. Holder held responsibility for sourcing, evaluating and investing in the partnership portfolio and developing and implementing strategy. Previously, Mr. Holder founded EDiX Corporation (currently Spheris with 2008 revenues of $182m) one of the nation’s leading physician transcription and medical information companies. He held various positions of responsibility in operations, technology and business development and was responsible for developing and implementing the largest and most profitable strategic partnerships at EDiX with HCA, Tenet, FPA and MedPartners. Mr. Holder received his bachelor degree from the University of California, Los Angeles.

 

James Young Kim
Vice President of Client Services / Marketing

James Kim is Vice President of Client Services at Vestara. In this role, Mr. Kim has global responsibility for all of Vestara’s implementations and client service needs. In addition, Mr. Kim is also Vice President of Marketing, holding all responsibilities for Vestara’s brand, its global marketing strategy, and its marketing functions. Prior to Vestara, Mr. Kim was in the Strategic Marketing Department at Johnson & Johnson, focused on developing retail marketing strategies for its LifeScan operating company. Mr. Kim holds an MBA in Strategic Marketing from the University of Southern California’s Marshall School of Business.

 

Dean Lotufo
Vice President of Finance and Chief Financial Officer

Mr. Lotufo has over 20 years of professional experience in various industries including Healthcare, Oil and Gas, Entertainment and Consumer Goods. Most recently, Mr. Lotufo served as Vice President of Finance for ION, a division of AmerisourceBergen (NYSE:ABC), one of the world’s largest distributors of pharmaceutical products, with over $70 billion in fiscal 2008. While at ION, Mr. Lotufo led all financial planning, auditing, and reporting initiatives that supported ION’s success. Previous positions included posts as Director of Finance Reengineering at Dresser Inc, where he improved profitability and productivity by streamlining the organizational structure and centralizing transactions, and multiple executive-level positions at Blockbuster, Inc., including Vice President, Financial Planning and Vice President, Finance and Shared Services, where he was responsible for the creation, direction, and management of the company’s shared financial services center. Mr. Lotufo started his career at Cadbury Beverages. Mr. Lotufo received his bachelor degree from Fairfield University, in Fairfield, Connecticut.

 

Jeff Lovesy
Vice President of Sales

Mr. Lovesy is a Sales Executive with over 15 years experience in Healthcare. He comes from International Oncology Network (ION), the largest Specialty GPO in the country. Mr. Lovesy was Vice President of Sales. His primary responsibilities at ION included negotiating pharmaceutical, service and educational contracts, as well as drug distribution to the largest community based Cancer Centers in the country. He was responsible for the Regional Directors, Strategic Account Managers, Pharmacy Team, and Large Practice Program. His experience in sales includes managing the entire sales process, from corporate operations to field initiatives. Mr. Lovesy has also worked with companies such as Bard Medical and Schein Pharmaceutical.

 

Scott Mallett
Vice President of Engineering

Mr. Mallett has over 19 years of experience managing the development of medical devices. He recently oversaw the engineering of the Neptune surgical fluid waste system at American Immuno Tech, prior to which he managed the development of a lithotripter and x-ray system at Medstone International, Inc. Mr. Mallett has served in managerial and developmental roles at Baxter Healthcare Corporation, Allied Signal Aerospace Company, Stackhouse, Inc., and General Motors Corporation. He earned his BS in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Florida and is a registered professional engineer.
