Board of Directors

Alan A. Davidner – Founder and Chairman

Mr. Davidner has been in the medical device business for more than 27 years and has developed or managed the development of 18 commercially successful medical products. He most recently founded and led American Immuno Tech, LLC, where he oversaw the development and sale of the Neptune™ surgical fluid waste management system. Prior to that, he co-founded Bio-Medical Devices, Inc., and was founder and president of Budget Medical and a founder of Phase Medical, Inc. Mr. Davidner earned a BS in Mechanical Engineering from California State University at Los Angeles and is a registered manufacturing engineer.

 

Michael J. Greer – Director

Mr. Greer is the founder and Chief Executive Officer of Waveland Capital Group LLC, an integrated financial services company formed in August 2000 with operations in investment and merchant banking, and venture capital within the medical device, energy and information technology sectors. Mr. Greer has over 28 years of experience in the financial services industry. Prior to Waveland, Mr. Greer co-founded and served as Managing Director for Taurus Capital Group, LLC, a private investment banking firm. In addition, he previously served as president of Energy Partners, Inc., a company he founded in 1989 that was later acquired and became a wholly-owned subsidiary of Benton Oil and Gas Company n/k/a Harvest Natural Resources, Inc. (NYSE:HNR), where he created and managed the company's partnership syndications and capital formation strategies. While at Benton, Mr. Greer was responsible for sourcing projects with industry partners (e.g., Texaco) in the Gulf Coast that ultimately led to a key strategic shift in Benton's operations and which represented at the time the majority of its domestic oil and gas assets. He was also responsible for securing the company's first institutional corporate financings.

 

Michael J. Martin – Director

Nominated to the Vestara board of directors in February 2009 and becoming a director on March 16, 2009, Mr. Martin joins Vestara with over 20 years of experience in healthcare, medical systems, group purchasing organizations, and services solutions. Since 2005, Mr. Martin has served as President of the ION/IPN1 division of AmerisourceBergen (NYSE ABC), one of the worlds largest distributors of pharmaceutical products, with over 70 billion dollars in fiscal 2008 revenue. Prior to joining AmerisourceBergen, he served as CEO of Tensys Medical, Inc. (2001 to 2005), COO of Medibuy (2000 to 2001), General Manager of G.E. Medical Systems (1995 to 1999), and in 1999 and 2000 served as Executive Vice President of Premier, Inc., one of the largest GPOs in the U.S. He received a bachelor degree in business from West Liberty State College in West Virginia.

 

William E. Maya – Chief Executive Officer and Director

Mr. Maya joined Vestara as Chief Executive Officer and Director on March 16, 2009. He has served in the CEO capacity for three medical technology companies: Birtcher Medical Systems (1987-1994), a publicly-traded manufacturer of hospital and physician office electrosurgical equipment, Advanced Spine Fixation Systems (1995-2004), a marketer of spinal implants to hospitals worldwide which was sold to Osteoimplant Technology, and DataLabs (2004-2007), a developer of web-based applications for clinical studies that was sold to ClinPhone, a London Stock Exchange company for a significant multiple of invested capital. Prior to his first CEO assignment, he served in high-level executive and sales roles for three other medical technology companies: Beta-Flo (sold to 3M), LifeScan (sold to Johnson & Johnson), and Bio-Dynamics (sold to Beringer-Manheim). Mr. Maya also has experience in pharmacology research at Smith, Kline & French, and the predecessor to GlaxoSmithKline.

 

Rob Morris

Mr. Morris has more than 20 years of marketing, planning and sales management with a variety of healthcare corporations. He is currently vice-president, marketing, for General Electrics CareCredit Corporation. Mr. Morris has also held senior healthcare management positions with CooperVision (Alcon), C.R. Bard, Denar, Unitek/Bristol-Meyers and was vice-president, marketing for Aedex, a company specializing in Auto-ID (bar coding market). He holds a BA degree and an MBA degree in marketing from California State University, Fullerton.

 

John Stroh

Mr. Stroh has over 25 years of experience in business operations, finance, investment banking and mergers & acquisitions. He is currently the managing director and senior vice president of corporate finance at Waveland Capital Partners, LLC. Before joining Waveland he was CFO and COO for Kadmus Pharmaceuticals, Inc. Prior to that, he was acting CFO of Atairgin Technologies, Inc. From 1984 until joining Atairgin in 2001, Mr. Stroh worked as a managing director and vice president for John Nuveen & Co, US Bancorp Piper Jaffrey, Smith Barney Shearson, Roth Capital Partners and Kidder Peabody & Co. He has a BS in business from California State University, Long Beach, and an MBA from the Graduate School of Management at UCLA
